Laser weapons are already on the battlefield
Directed-energy and laser dazzle threats are a real and growing risk to a soldier's eyesight. Protection has to match the wavelength, lens classification and continuous-or-pulsed nature of the threat, not a one-size-fits-all tint.
One mission, five environments
Ship to shore, helicopter transfer, dust, surf and urban terrain can all happen in a single tasking. Eyewear that only works in one of those environments becomes dead weight in the other four.
